Swansea Valley striped blanket.
A heavy pure wool narrow width blanket from the Swansea Valley. Splendid quality using a fine twist yarn & plenty of wool. in undyed Grey & Cream stripes in a herringbone twill. Detailed with undyed Chocolate Brown wool from either Welsh Mountain or Jacobs fleece & a fine Green & Pale Blue broken lines up the centre of each broad Cream stripe.
With machine sewn ends & a hand sewn centre seam. Woven on a narrow width flannel loom in the last quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
A highly collectable Welsh textile in marvelous condition & perfectly suitable for everyday use.
Measures 82" x 68" ( 210cm x 174cm)
