Herringbone twill in a distinctive tramline plaid.


A herringbone twill of excellent quality dating from the first part of the Twentieth century. A strong Arts & Crafts feel of quality & simplicity, a well designed pattern in undyed Welsh Mountain yarns, Chocolate & Cream & mixes of the two with detailing in Peppermint Green & scarlet.
Woven on a hand box loom , a remnant from a flannel industry declined to almost extinction. In two pieces & hand sewn together to create a bigger bed cover. Repaired machine sewn warp ends. Several substantial darns to map its long history & Servitude.
Pure wool , hard wearing & well executed. Collectable & functional & perfectly suitable for regular respectful use. Ideal in a minimalist Arts & Crafts interior or in more contemporary setting teamed with florals.
Can be cleaned in your washing machine ( please follow my guide).
Measures 80" x 64" ( 204cm x 164cm)
