Collectable Welsh blanket

From my collection . One of a pair of subtly striped blankets from  Llanrhystud in Ceredigion. hand woven C1930 in pure wool of a superb quality : A set of subtle stripes running vertically down the cloth. Undyed Cream, natural Grey & early aniline dyes in Duckegg Blue, Gold & Denim Blue. Blanket stitched warp ends.Central seam.

Whilst the process of weaving at Llanrystud factri is undocumented , it was an important Mill for dyeing & spinning & worked alongside other small rural mills providing part of the process for hand weaving.Where dyeing & spinning might be carried out here , weaving might then be done at such mills as Aberarth or Cilcennin. Fulling & finishing of cloth may have then be done at a further mill such as Llanfair Clodogau.
