Inter War Years.

Highly collectable & interesting inter war years Welsh textile. Purchased in the Crymych Area of Pembrokeshire. Woven on a narrow width loom in what appears to be ex Military yarn. Cleverly using Cochineal ( Pink) and Black stripes running along the length of the cloth & as a border design across the warp.  ( Border also contains Chocolate bands).

Many mills would have had surplus Military yarns after the war & it was also cheapily available on the open market. Whereby offering the savvy Mill owner the opportunity for lower cost yarns. Cochineal however , was a relatively expensive , imported dye so the costs were balanced on this particular production.

Hand spun & woven with machined warp ends & a centre seam. Super condition.

Pure wool.
