Carthen.

A lovely early Twentieth Century Welsh carthen C1930. Machined warp ends & short twisted fringes. an undyed Cream ground with blocks of dove grey chevrons created by the reverse twill. Bisected with bands in Slate Grey, Charcoal Black, Strawberry Red and Daffodil Yellow.

Rather splendid.

Pure wool.

Measures 72" x 46" ( 185cm x 118cm) plus the fringes. Probably made originally for a childs bed or small single. It will work well on both a sofa or across the foot of a larger bed as a runner.
