Welsh carthen

An early Twentieth Century Welsh carthen from South Carmarthenshire. Superb quality cloth in undyed Cream with early dyes in Madder Red and Charcoal Black. A faint detailing line in faded flax Blue. A distinctive plaid design with a traditional bordered edge of repeated lines in Red and Blue along the fringed sides. Machined warp ends. Hand stitched central seam. Hand woven.

Designed to cover the bed and for the fringes to aid drape either side. You can create a contemporary look but turning it sideways across a larger bed , exposing your linen at the pillow head.
