This contemporary striped blanket is one of our Heritage range. Originally woven over a century before at Penwern Mill in Cribyn , near Lampeter. Penwern mill was one of a pair of mills producing fairly simple cloth for a local market. Like most rural mills , the Prices` would sell at local markets such as Tregaron. Stock patterns & plain blankets, knitting yarn & flannel by the yard. It seems that this particularly design was one that was sold at their permanent stand at Tregaron. The originals being narrow width , with a centre seam.
We have reproduced this design from one in my own personal collection & it is woven for me a few miles away in Drefach Felindre, this time round on a broad loom. Albeit a 1930s one.
Alternate Grey & Cream stripes with pastel detail between. Blue, Orange, Pink & Green, Subtle colour in fine broken lines which are perfect to pick up some of the boldest patterns. Try a Bright Orange Peony cushion or a Turquoise Caernarfon against it.
Pure wool, finished with blanket stitch each end & baring our label. Made in Wales.
